Transition Housing for Somali Youth – Studio Class

In a junior year residential design studio class in Spring 2013, students created proposals for transition housing that supported the needs of Somali youth caught in trafficking: included screened windows and bedroom separation, fostered community, employed healing color palettes that used natural textures and hues, and allowed for designated study areas that promoted the value of education.
